MARCHING BAND PARENT MEETING
Monday, July 13 at 7:00 pm in the Theatre we will have a Marching Band Parent meeting to discuss band camp. Please make your best effort to be there!

BAND CAMP at BHS
What to bring for rehearsals during Band Camp:
- Large Water Bottle LABELED WITH YOUR NAME (there are 250 of us)
- Shorts/T-Shirt/Socks/Tennis Shoes/Wear Sunscreen
- Bring your instrument or a $60 check made out to Brookwood High School if you are renting an instrument and haven’t already checked one out
- A printed copy or a large enough electronic tablet to view your music of SOAR: Part ONE, Part TWO, and Two-Minute Warning each day of band camp. I am still waiting on percussion parts! Copies of music can be found in the google drive! Students enrolled in Mastery/Advanced Band Classes are on First Part and Intermediate/Beginning Band Classes on Second Part when applicable.
- Bring your charged cell phone to all band camp rehearsals. We will be using the UDB App to set drill and plan to set the first page by Tuesday!

MARCHING BAND SHOES
Students will be measured for marching band shoes at Band Camp this week. We will keep a list with everyone’s sizes. Please order using the link below. You do not need to know the size. Deadline to order is July 30 at 11:30 pm.

DOGWOOD PIZZA SPIRIT DAYS
Order from Dogwood Pizza this week (July 13-17) and mention you are with the band and the band will receive a portion of the proceeds.
BAND PICTURES
Friday, July 17 at 5:30 pm are Band Pictures. Meet in the commons dressed in your full marching band uniform with long black socks. Please arrive 10 minutes before your picture time. Marching Band Uniforms will be issued at this week in the band room. If your student misses band camp, they will get their uniform the first week of school.

KEY DEPOSIT
Oglethorpe will be issuing us room keys at check-in. You will need to bring a check for $25 for a key deposit made out to Brookwood Band. If your student returns their key at check-out, then they will get your check back. If they lose the key, then you will not get your check back and the college will use the money to buy a replacement key. We will also accept cash but cannot accept credit cards for this.
CAMPUS VISITORS
Per Oglethorpe, there are no visitors to campus. If you need to come, please make arrangements with Lyn Risher before you come. Her cell phone is 770-335-1201.
BREAKFAST AT BAND CAMP
We will be having a grab and go breakfast in the dorms this year. Choices will include bagel or muffin, granola bars, fruit, yogurt or string cheese and water.
PIZZA AT BAND CAMP
Sunday and Monday nights your student has the option of ordering pizza at band camp. We will be ordering pizza from Marco’s. A large one-topping pizza is $15.
Pizza orders will be taken Monday night at the parent meeting and Friday night at picture night. CASH ONLY!!! Order form is in the Band Camp Google Drive.
FAST PASS
You can earn a Fast Pass for checking in at band camp.
To earn the Fast Pass:
- You must be current with your band fees (fully paid or current with your payment plan)
- Completed your Health History form.
- New Marchers have paid their uniform fees.
Earning a Fast Pass will help you avoid the lines while checking in at band camp! You will be emailed a Fast Pass this week from the BBA.

THINGS TO NOTE
- There are no trash cans in the dorm rooms. We are asking each student to bring one trash bag.
- The beds require extra-long sheets.
