Assistant  Band Director

Dylan King is the Assistant Band Director for the Brookwood Maching Band. A native of Marietta, Georgia, Mr. King attended Walton High School and is a 2023 graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in K–12 Instrumental and Vocal Music Education.

During his time at Auburn University, Mr. King served as a Section Leader in the Auburn University Marching Band for two years. He was also a member of the Auburn University Symphonic Winds from 2019–2023, serving as principal chair for three years and performing in numerous domestic and international venues. In addition, Mr. King was a four-year member of the Auburn University Jazz Band, where he served as Section Leader, Bandmaster, and Student Conductor for three years. He was also the lead player for the Exit 51 Saxophone Quartet, which performed at various venues and music conferences throughout the Southeastern United States. Mr. King also served as the Music Librarian for the Auburn Department of Music from 2020–2023 and was one of the organizers for the Alabama District 7 Solo and Ensemble Festival.
Prior to joining Brookwood High School, Mr. King taught elementary music for two years in Mableton, Georgia. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the Georgia Music Educators Association, the National Band Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, and S.L.A.M. Leadership.
